Righty! Managed to process some images wot I took out at Orford Ness a while back and I added them to the set “The Ness”on the website. I’ve gone back for a bit of lovely old doom and gloom, and dark and eerie mono, I was gettin far to cheerful playin around with all that colour malarky. And lets not forget that where there’s grumpy there’s creativity! Take Vlad the Impaler for example!

loving those skies.
Cheers thanks for looking 🙂
Indeed – lovely, lovely skies. Yours is some of my favourite black and white photography.
Cheers thank you very much 🙂
Oh yes… nothing like a bunch of gloriously gorgeous gloom…
Always works for me 😉
good series, I particularly like Laboratory Row
Tis a very eerie place considering its past 🙂
what is its past?
Complete and utter secrecy! Has been a site of secret weapons research since before WWII. They helped develop radar there and bombing techniques and during the cold war it was a Nuclear weapons research establishment and the site of “Cobra Mist” a top secret over the horizon radar base. My very very first post “A Walk on the Ness” has more pictures. And there is a set on my main website too. 🙂
You have a very atmospheric landscape to stroll around. I’m jealous.
I think that just about where ever you go in Blighty there is a history and a past that effects the landscape. Trying to find the time to have a blunder about and swear a lot down at Dungeness, that looks nice and desolate and atmospheric 🙂
I think the south coast has more of this stuff due to World War II and the threat of invasion.
Incredible drama!
Just a big ole Drama Queen me 😀
Great post! I nominated your blog for the Awesome Blog Content Award– More info can be found here– http://fictionalmachines.wordpress.com/2012/06/11/awesome-blog-content-award-nomination/
Cheers! I shall try and sort this when I have a moment 🙂
Seems like a very interesting place, and that´s some great photos to 🙂
Cheers thanks for stopping by 🙂
Ciao, Is this your ‘doom & gloom ‘ phase? How long does it last, can you take a pill for it (or a drink?) Come on….when’s the blue phase? 🙂
Apparently I’ve always been a bit of a miserable git 😀
Love gloom! Great captures! And thanks for the ‘like’ on my latest photo post!
Cheers! Thanks for looking 🙂
gorgeous photos!
thanks for stopping by plucky umbrella – nice to meet you, mary
Cheers thanks for the visit! 🙂
Awesome!
What all are you doing to process your skies like this?
I play about with the exposure, contrast and saturation in `light`room, then further process in Silver Efex Pro 2 enhancing shadows and mid tones. Then add any grain or vignetting I think suitable. Cheers 🙂
wow!!! awesome photography
Cheers! 🙂
